About Us.Westvic Heritage Management was launched in 2019 by John Young (BA Hons and MProfArch) who has worked in the heritage industry since 2008 in heritage consultancies as a Senior Archaeologist and for a Registered Aboriginal Party as a Heritage Advisor.
Westvic Heritage Management staff have extensive experience in all heritage management areas, having completed hundreds of projects from small subdivisions to large infrastructure projects. |
Established in 2019Westvic Heritage Management was founded in 2019 by John Young. After working for many years in cultural heritage as an Consultant Archaeologist and a Cultural Heritage Manager, and forging long-lasting relationships with clients and Aboriginal groups in Ballarat, Geelong and the surrounding areas, John decided to launch his own consultancy that could provide a focused service to the Western district of Victoria.

John Young is an Archaeologist with over twelve years experience in the field. He has a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Archaeology and a Masters of Professional Archaeology from La Trobe University. John was the Cultural Heritage Manager for the Wathaurung Aboriginal Corporation for over 3 years.

Julia Young is a consultant with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) majoring in Archaeology and Art History and minoring in History, and a Masters of Art Curatorship, majoring in Collection Management. Julia has eleven years experience in researching and writing for arts and culture organisations and museums, with a focus on European history.
